I had a different comic about 80% done for this week, but when I heard Monday evening about what happened in Isla Vista and the horrific online responses to it, I sat down at the table and this came out instead. For the record, what I’m saying here applies across to board to not just the whole spectrum of challenges that women face, but those faced by trans folk, homosexuals, people of color, and any other group that faces this kind of crap and then gets blamed for their own oppression. If you think you’re not part of the problem, then stop hand-wringing over it and become part of the freaking solution instead of trying to derail progress to soothe your own ego.
Also, for the other literary nerds out there, I re-read Dante to make sure which circle of hell is reserved for those who bear false witness, so no need to fact check me on that one.
